Biography:
Michael Briones was born in 1982 in San Diego (aka the nicest part of Mexico). He grew up always wishing that he’d live a life immersed in the arts.
At a young age, he made a decision he knew would affect the rest of his life. That decision was an easy one: to live the life he wanted, pursuing his greatest passion, knowing full well it could be a life of struggle and compromise. However, the opportunity to express his own voice and vision would undoubtedly be worth it.
Michael’s creative juices have been flowing for as long as he can remember. His initial formal studies were in the fine arts, during junior high and high school. His biggest influences are Edgar Degas and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Both gave him a strong appreciation of value, line, typography, and composition. After escaping from a trade school posing as an art school, his fine art skills and eye for contemporary design combined to shape his current style.
The road has been long and hard for this artist, with his dream crushed and resurrected sporadically throughout the years. Recently, Michael has been making his presence felt on the arts scene. He teamed up with the Infusion Project, and now does live painting nights, showcases, and charity events all across San Diego.
