The Infusion Project couldnt be more excited to have this Producer/DJ get on the decks. Honing his skills in the studio and on the decks for just a short time, MKZ has an arsenal of hard hitting tunes under his belt.

Mkz or simply known as Mikey began his production work in the year 2009 after attending his first electronic music festival in Los Angeles,California, were he fell in love with the synthetic sounds that surrounded him.

In 2009-2010 Mkz was making Electro beats, however his passion for Minimal and Techno took over. The year is now 2012 and he has had various releases on labels such as 2MR2, Digital storm and Frontzide records.

The future looks bright for the 22 year old San Diego native as he does not plan on stopping his production work any time soon.

“MKZ’s style of straightforward minimal techno has made him one of my favorite producers in San Diego’s Techno scene. I’ve heard his sound progress in just a few short months. Techno heads, pay attention.” says DJ Schugar.

Ryan Sadorus owns and operates the labels BerettaMusic and sub label Beretta Grey with label mate, Brian Kage. Having grown up in the stark midwest and later traveling the world in the military has given him unique insight into his own life and into his own perception of electronic music. These Boys claim they don’t Disco, but maybe it’s because they’ve finally grown up into men. Either way, they will get you groovin!

DJs and childhood friends Alex and Jeremiah bonded over an obsession of music as teenagers. They make house music, or what can loosely be described as such. Really, it’s the result of countless hours spent devouring their record collections, learning secrets about music inside and out: soul, funk, disco, house and more.

It’s music made for 3am speakers and people that just wanna get down on the floor, where atmosphere is everything. The end result simply creates a lasting connection and a sense of timelessness.

Billa has been a musician on many different levels from his earliest years growing up in the Northeast suburbs of Philadelphia as well as attending The Philadelphia School of Performing Arts for school as a young-in. He started off exploring rhythm in various ways as a drummer and a keyboardist for a handful of various indie bands through the 80′s and 90′s, while continuing this rhythm exploration on turn tables after being introduced to this art-form in 91′. Playing now for almost two decades with various styles and genres of being a musical collecting ” vinyl” extraordinaire with a strong love from disco, house, dub, experimental electronica and early post punk inspired visions of dimensional sound he has been lucky to play at clubs across the globe including a 2-year residency at Radost FX in Prague, CZ, and appearances at nites and residencies up & down the east coast , the great south & north west, as well as various adventures throughout California. As a seasoned DJ, he has had the chances along with the honer to set, headline and share the stage for a plethora of well known producers and DJ’s from the likes of Derrick Carter, Derrick May, Mark Farina, The Wicked Crew, Doc Martin, Miles Meada, Mark e Quark, to name a few. He also has been responsible for being the creator, promoter and a strong mind behind the infamous “The Good The Bad and The Funky” and “The Rhythmic Soul Lounge” events for years in New Mexico which catered to a handful musical tastes, genera’s and adventures in spectrum’s of sound. He has recently re-located to the San Diego area where he has had few great appearances with the Moonshake crew nites as well as the Soul On Beat production teams and a soon upcoming eve with “Skin Tight” . He is also now holding a Bi-monthly residency for the Burlap & Searsucker establishments where he gets too tune-in and lay down his beloved as well Balearic adventures! A huge thanks to our last podcaster, Adam Warped! This episode we have a feature that has been a long time coming. James Curry is pretty busy these days playing around SoCal. His sound is distinct and the people love what he does. Check it out! Jame Curry aka Lucky J.

My love for electronic dance music was born in the Los Angeles underground but was refined by my time in San Diego. Long before becoming a DJ, I was a student of the history of electronic dance music. It is that history that provides the foundation for my selections as a dj. I am a self proclaimed house head but I often find myself explaining to people that my evil twin loves techno. While I was certainly exposed to techno early on, it wasn’t until I experienced Chris Liebing at a Droid Behavior party that my evil twin was truly born. In 2011 I founded Interconnected and put together my first events with Raiz (Droid Behavior), Android Cartel (Sketchbook, Riff Raff), Halo (Surface, Lost N Sound), and Paul Najera (VivaLaTech) to name a few. I look to continue down the path of djing and creating events in 2012. This mix covers a fairly broad spectrum of house and techno. I hope that you enjoy the selections. Adam has turned the tables from ‘Formula 660′ in Waikiki, Hawaii to ’Hedonism 3′ in Runaway Bay, Jamaica and almost everywhere in between. His signature smooth blend of obscure forward thinking grooves has won over audiences at countless raves and legendary nightclubs. Since 1993 he has graced the decks at Limelight, Tunnel, Liquids, Groovejet, Shampoo, Speeed, The Raleigh Hotel, The Lunatarium, 111 Minna, Filter 14, Phoenix Landing, Le Souk, The Rickshaw Stop, The W Hotels, 1015 Folsom, Mezzanine SF, Love NYC, and many more.

His debut 12 inch “Left of Center” with production partner ‘Big’ Ben Davidson was released in 1999 on Warped Recordings. The duo’s second project Blown Fuse “Blowdryer Blues” a funky filtered house affair(featuring a remix by Joeski) was recorded in 2000. The duo reunited and returned in 2005 with a remix of HAWKE’s (Gavin Hardkiss) single “Flower Girl”. Originally released on Ditrec Records as a limited edition 12″ vinyl, it is now available digitally(Stompy.com, Beatport, Juno, iTunes, etc.) via Q-Burns Abstract Message’s esteemed label Eighth Dimension Records. Warped Crew’s Deflowered remix was also licensed for a mix cd entitled “Rachdingue Vol. 1″ representing Salvador Dali’s legendary surrealist avant-garde nightclub “Le Rachdingue Discotheque” in Catalonia Vilajuïga, Spain.

In October of 2011 Adam released his first track under the pseudonym Johnny Blackouts “Down The Hatch” on San Francisco label Not So Fast Recordings. His remix of No Soul To Sell’s “Electric Kool-Aid”, for French label Electronic Petz, is due out in February. Other forthcoming projects and releases will appear on Uniform Recordings, Headset Records, Harmonious Discord, and his own imprint Whiskey Pickle.

A classically trained percussionist and a classically trained selector, Eric Long uses his analog roots in the ever evolving technological environment that is electronic music. A proprietor of strict tech-house and organic techno, Eric exercises musical therapy at the bi-monthly “Jungle”.

As a recent addition to the ever expanding “Cosmic Family”, Eric Long will will bring his definitive groove and infectious rhythm to the Basshenge and events alike.

Eric conveys mood and an ethereal surrounding using only music. Creating an emotion and internal vibe is what drives Eric’s inspiration and overall motivation for creating sounds. Sexy, funky, soulful, eclectic, techy, deep — all are words that have been used to describe Jesse’s sound — whether he’s DJing or producing music.

Blame Jesse’s music obsession on his father. A huge collector of soul, funk, reggae, Blues, classic rock, and just about anything else for that matter, it was his father who gave Jesse his first records and his love of music. His parents always pushed and nurtured the music bug within him, which resulted in a parade of musical instruments finding their way into Jesse’s hands throughout his childhood.

Circa 1996 Jesse found himself indulging in California’s underground party and rave scene which would expand his music experience even further. Witnessing and seeking out DJ performances from the likes of Doc Martin, Barry Weaver, Tom Middleton, Laurent Garnier, Charles Webster, Sasha & Digweed, and live acts such as Underworld and Orbital, Jesse was drawn towards the pulsing rhythms of electronic music. Shortly thereafter Jesse took to the DJ booth himself by teaming up with promoters along the west coast. From warehouses and massive raves to seedy lounges and clubs, he began honing his craft. His music collection continued to grow exponentially, frequenting record shops across southern California.

Today deep house, disco, downtempo, soul, funk, trip hop and techno are what primarily flow from the DJ mind of Jesse, but now more than ever he is focused on producing. In a relatively short time he has achieved several musical accomplishments that include numerous dance edits, an SDSU student film soundtrack, and original music featured on HGTV’s “House Hunters.” He plans to take his obsession even further, continuing to learn the crafts of studio production and audio engineering. A music lover through and through, he believes there is a fitting soundtrack for almost any moment in time.

Quark resolved to use his powers of DJ’ing only for good, not evil. However, he also resolved not to ever wear tights, a cape, or a mask at the same time so as to not focus on his superhero DJ status. Quark likes to keep the focus on the music.

Mark E. Quark’s handwriting can be seen undeniably all over Southern California’s legendary nightlife scene. In a pinch, if forced to employ adjectives to describe the Mark E. Quark style, one would come up with words like “groovy, laid back and nasty” house music. But putting grammar aside, it’s reasonable to just say that Quark has internalized influences from DJ Harvey, Idjut Boys, Jeno + early Andrew Weatherall, mashed them up, and given life to a signature style and a creature which is totally unique. This creature is currently brought to life for public consumption on a bi-weekly basis at Moonshake, a collaboration with fellow DJ’s Dr. Indulgent + Bob Dazzla in San Diego.

DJ Sudonim – The Infusion Project No Request Podcast #40

Born in the east, raised on both coasts (US), currently in San Diego-Sudonim has been a DJ and producer since 2002. Before heading west in 2007 he honed his skills and dug for vinyl in world renowned NYC records shops, many of which have unfortunately closed. Joining forces with Adam Arlia, Mkz, Stuwy Uwy, and Noetic, and becoming a part of the Infusion Project, FutureDirectionsMusic, Level 3 Records families (with DJ Evolved and Thadeau), 2011 looks to be a promising year with several mixes and albums (Manuel Automatic EP and The Bubble EP with Mkz) nearly ready to be released.

Minimal, Tech-House, and Techno have been the focus of DJ sets as well as most of the recent production. Local DJ sets have included several appearances at Fashion Whore (at the Ruby Room) including the 5 Year Anniversary party (opening for David Afterlife) and sets at Oxygen (AC Lounge) and Bleep Bloop, opening for DJ Schugar and Worthy from Dirtybird Records. Other recent gigs have included The Fleetwood, The Ivy, The W, and Searsucker, often tag-teaming with Mkz and It’s Tomorrow In Japan.

All across America on Tuesday, the rusty steel bear trap jaws of democratic machinery sprang back to life, and the nation rushed madly towards the voting booths, letting their collective voices be heard like the scribbling of thousands of pens and pencils! (Mostly because that’s what it would sound like if everyone were in the same room voting together!) Like any other important event in the world, The Infusion Project is right there, and tonight we’re going to go over the results of the election! Think of it like watching a baseball game you tape recorded – it was in the past, but as long as you have a way to play it back on tape and you’re able to trick yourself into believing it’s live, you won’t notice the difference! In fact, if someone who went into a coma on Tuesday came back awake, you could play this episode for them so they wouldn’t get disoriented!

For the first half of this week’s extra-patriotastic episode, we had DJ Evolved from Level III records in the studio with us, showing us an amazingly varied set of electronic music, live instruments and more! It’s a great recording! Then to round out the second half, DJ Schugar has given us a snippet of a 6 hour long dj journey he went on instead of going trick-or-treating on Halloween! You guys are in for all sorts of musical fun this week, along with the best damn election coverage around.
